memorial stone for william hill

Does anyone know about a memorial stone for william hill in the Loggerheads area?

He was supposedly a victim of a roadside robbery probably after 1881.
A relative looked for the memorial in the mid1970's, but didn't find it.
Maybe there is a newspaper article of the time.

Hi janwag and welcome to rootschat :)

if you had a date for the roadside robbery and his death you'd be able to search newspapers and probably find where he is buried that way.
Even without the exact date you could try the British Library's data base of newspapers- local ones to where the incident occurred would be best. They'd probably carry and acount of the Inquest/police report.
Why not try searching the BL's data base?

Another way to get the dateof his death is to buy his death cert. 9GBP., then search for a newspaper item.
