PMS

Whilst browsing through a churchyard, I came across two slabs, both featuring the initials PMS, at the top of the inscription. The letters are very bold, and large. I was curious as to their meaning, if any, or, are they the stone masons corporate identity. Both hail from circa 1750'ish. Are they Latin maybe, Hebrew perhaps, who knows, can anyone help settle the matter please.... ???

Sourced the answer myself, after a lengthy struggle with a Latin dictionary...

P.M.S.  =  Piae Memoriae Sacrum  = Pious Memory Sacred

Silly me, I should have known that.... ::)
