Andraos - CapeTown - 1899
« on: Monday 28 June 10 22:31 BST (UK) »
I am looking to find out how my great grandfather came to be in Cape Town.

He's name is Michael Abraham (alt: Abrahem) Andraos.

I know that he was born in Mount Lebanon, Syria, and that he probably arrived NOV 1899 in the Cape colony, and that at that time he was 20 years old, living at 19 stJohns street. He was a railroad porter at the time.

FYI, He later married Harriett (alt: harriet) Johanna, he died 1957 in Johannesburg.

I would like to know how he got there, and posibly why?

Hi Dimitrioua

Did you manage to get any more info? My mother is an Andraos and you both share the same great grandparents. I'm working on my family tree and would love if you have any info to share?

Best regards
Kelly

Hello kelcol and welcome to RootsChat.

Unfortunately Dimitrioua hasn't been active on here since their first post in 2010. Hopefully if they still have the same email address they will receive notification of your post and will reply.  :)
