1871 London Islington/Kings Cross Bradshaw
« on: Saturday 22 May 04 14:26 BST (UK) »
Can someone please look up my GGFather, George Bradshaw, b 1837 in Toddington, Bedfordshire, a Carpenter by Trade, possibly living with his daughter Kate, b 1866, in Caledonia Street, Islington ?   Who else was living with him as I believe that Kate's mother died in 1867.
Thank you for your help. :)

Thank you so much for your speedy reply, Chris in 1066 land. :)   You have been a tremendous help.   My suspicions have been confirmed that Eliza (Wiles) was possibly not Catherine's mother, as Catherine's Birth Cert shows her mother to be Ann (Wiles) and certainly George T, of whom I did not know, can not be Eliza's son, either.   I wonder if I am into the situation where George has married his sister-in-law ?

Thanks again - Arfermo

Hello Criggy,

Very many thanks for the information that you have sent to me ref my Toddington Bradshaws.   It is a very great help. :)   However from your info, it would appear that Sarah & Betsey both c 23.9.1832 were twin sisters.   my belief is that Sarah died young as I cannot find anything about her anywhere, and there is another Sarah (aged 12 in 1851) in the family.    There is also a Betsy who is 16 (in 1851) and c 2 Nov 1834 (IGI).   When you next visit the Parish Registers, could youy please confirm or otherwise my thoughts/facts.

Could you also pse look up the following Birth/Baptisms for me as they are also causing me angst !

Mary Ann Bradshaw b 1853 (?) Caddington
Catherine Bradshaw b 1853 (?) Toddington
Isabella Bradshaw b 1859 (?) Caddington       All from IGI

Many thanks for your help

Regards :)

Hi Arfermo

Goodness, think I must have been rather tired yesterday. Couldn't remember finding twins so checked my info and it should read BETSEY c 2.11.1834 - sorry about that - I even checked it twice before I posted it!

Think there should be a death for Sarah somewhere, perhaps at Harlington, unless the ages are wrong on the census. I thought it strange at the time that there were two Sarahs of the same age although with different reference nos so I know I didn't make a mistake there!

Think some of the other siblings may be in the Methodist books but my libary doesn't have copies of those.

Will check the other references for you and look for burials when next I visit - won't be for a few weeks though.

Keep searching

criggy
