Do you know the identity these people? Any hints or suggestions welcome
« on: Wednesday 30 June 10 18:36 BST (UK) »
Hi the original photograph of this image was found in my g.grandmothers photograph basket. Her family lived in Anglesey in the Mid-late 19th century (exlplains the welsh costume), it is possible that they are servants of one of the well established manor houses etc of the island. I live in North Wales myself so I know the area well, any comments or ideas would be greatly welcome. Whilst it is possible that one person in this photograph is my ancestor (although I do not know which one) who are the rest? And where did they work? For now it is a mystery but it seems such a shame with it being such a great photograph!

Kind regards Rach

SERIOUSLY?! Is there anyway that I could get hold of this other photograph you have seen? How sure are you of this? (not meaning to sound rude in any way) you have made my day! Do you know if I could find any more information on this!

Thank you very much

Hi,
Have you considered trying to see if Anglesey has an historic society who may be able to help?

Anyone else who can help?

Rach,

In my tree, I have some family who worked at Plas Newydd in the late 19th Century. I don't have any photos unfortunately.

What was your Great Grandmothers name? - we may be able to take a guess at the others from the censuses at the time.

Alan

Hello Alan, thanks you for your interest, My g.g.grandmother was called Ellen Williams b.1851 in Conway. Possibly your relatives could be in this photo?!

Kind regards

Rach  :)

P.S If we assume that Elens illegitimate daughter was something to do with this house, then she was born in 1871 (two months after census was taken) so it is a tricky one to know weather Elen would still be working there or not.

Thanks
