Looking for any information on Ann McArdle who married a Stephen Grant (Marriage found by researcher - married 2nd April 1872, Roman Catholic Chapel of Jonesborough, Co. Armagh.
Father: John Grant, Farmer & Richard McArdle, Labourer

Stephen Grant Born c.   1845  Ireland  (1881, 1891 Census) Coal Aston, Derbyshire, ENGLAND
Ann Grant Born c.  1846 Ireland (1881 Census) Coal Aston, Derbyshire, ENGLAND

CHILDREN:  Julia, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, Jane (my Great Grand-mother), Stephen, William (All born at Coal Aston, Derbyshire, England).

   An intriguing couple. All I can find is that the marriage took place in Meigh (about 2 miles north of Jonesborough) Roman Catholic Church on the dat stated.

Another researcher found the marriage for me.

Stephen Grant and Ann McArdle
It says on marriage entry: Roman Catholic Chapel Of Jonesborough, Registrar's district of Meigh. They married 2nd April 1872.  Stephen Grant is from Tiffcrum??? and Ann McArdle is from Tiffcrum???, Dowdals Hill.  NOT SURE WHERE TIFFCRUM IS???

They must of left Ireland in 1872 as their daughter Julia Grant was born on the 28th November 1872 at Birches Row, Coal Aston, Derbyshire, England. 

I am now trying to locate a possible baptism for Stephen Grant and Ann McArdle.  On the marriage entry it states Stephen Grant's father is a John Grant (Farmer) and Ann McArdle's father is a Richard McArdle (Labourer).  Ann Grant died at Dronfield Railway Station, Derbyshire in 1890 (Age 44 years old) and Stephen Grant died in 1893 at Coal Aston, Derbyshire (Age 48 years old).

Any information is much appreciated.

In the Griffiths valuation there is a John Grant, Armagh, Forkhill and the Townland is Tievecrum.  Forkhill is in Armagh but on the border with Co Louth.
Ref. Anne McArdle,  Dowdallshill is just North of Dundalk.(Co Louth)

Jonesborough and Forkhill are adjacent to each other.  Both on the border.

In Roots Ireland there is a
Baptism in 1843, Co Louth , Stephen Grant, father John.
Baptism in 1846 , Co Louth,  Ann McArdle, father Richard.

These are possibly the records you are looking for.

Some of my ancestors came from that exact same area and all I can tell you is that when my ggggrandparents had a daughter Rose Reynolds 24 Dec 1821 the godmother was Rose Grant. This daughter died and then another Rose was born 19 February 1832 and her godmother was Mary Grant. When Rose's sister Anne married and had a son 14 July 1864 his godmother was Elizabeth Grant.
I don't know if these Grant ladies were wives of Grant men or whether they were single. But it might help you chase up other Grants in the area.
