I'm glad you were able to find what you were looking for! Can you tell me where you were able to get the obituary for the Vancouver death? I can't seem to locate anything on line.

Hi Kim

I had put a message on Ancestry in connection with sailings from Britain to Canada and some kind person went the extra mile and managed to find records of obituaries and went to the library and looked the two up.  The two brothers died the same year.

I managed to get David's sailing in 1912 and Hugh's in 1908. They are recorded on the Ellis Island site.   I think David's must have been a visit to the UK in 1912 as his census indicates he emigrated in 1899.

Three weeks ago I had hardly anything on this family.

I finally got to the Family History Society library today and did the lookup for the death registration for Hugh Rose.  If you would like to send me a pm with your email address, I can send a scan of the document to you.
