Hi there,

just going back a bit further with this family.. I've found Emma, and her siblings and parents, but i'm now trying to find details of her grandparents.

I know they came out to Australia aboard the "August" in 1856. The following is information from the ships passenger list:

149 Ernst Wilh: a Landmann aged 51
150 Joh: Dorothea aged 49
151 Ernst Gottlieb a Landmann aged 28
152 Friedr: Wilh: a Landmann aged 20
153 Joh: Eleonore aged 17
154 Joh: Caroline aged 14
155 August Ferd: aged 6

from that, I know they were here, but I cannot seem to find anything about them dying? Can anyone give me a clue as to thier whereabouts?

Also, I've found records of all the children (including some gravesites), except Joh Eleonore who seems to have disapeared.

Perhaps they all died aboard the ship?

Any help appreciated.

TRAEGER Ernst Wilhelm died 29 Aug 1874 Sedan Dist Ang 60 18. He was aged 69 status relative not recorded residence Sedan

Seem to be 2 registrations for his wife

TRAEGER Dorothea died 13 Aug 1882 nr Eudunda Dist Kap 122 472. She was aged 75 a widow relative Ernst TRAEGER deceased husband.

TRAEGER Johanne Dorothea died 13 Aug 1882 hundred of English Dist Kap 122 208. She was aged 75 a widow relative Ernst TRAEGER husband.

Had a quick look at the Eudunda cemetery records for you but could only find one TRAEGER, Carl Wilhelm, who died 6th Sept 1914 aged 79yrs (so B: C1835) but am going into the gallery tomorrow & will have a more in depth look at surrounding areas as well.

Thankyou Annie.. any help would be much appreciated. I do know that one of the sons (Freidrich Wilhelm) and his wife are buried in Tanunda, and I have a picture of their grave from a relative down there..

If I could find the graves of the parents (Ernst Wilhelm and Johanna Dorothea) that would ba wonderful.
