I've found that browsers are not always very good at printing screens like this containing graphics or mixed graphics and text. It's worth trying a different browser version as this can sometimes help - e.g. Firefox, Chrome etc
For Griffiths pages, map extracts etc, the way that has worked best for me (assuming that the image doesnt allow a right-click save option..) is to screenshot the image directly from the browser, and then print the image. If you have a graphics editor you can also join a series of screenshots together if required. If not you could use something like MSWord, then you can fine tune the image and select the required print options. e.g.
press shift-'print screen' to capture the entire screen
open MS Word and start a new document
paste the captured image - using right-click, paste
The options depend a little on the version of Word you have, but you can resize the image , crop or rotate etc
