Hi again

I had a look in the transcript for 1851 and found

George Ashton H Wid aged 60 Farm Lab born Kirtlingotn
Sarah Ashton Dau age 15 born Ensham
James Ashton Gson aged 8 scholar born Ensham

so now it says James is George Grandson

checked the register transcripts

baptism 1843 Jan 1st James Ashton son of Keziah Ashton (bron 1842 Dec 3rd)

Keziah was the daughter of George Ashton and his first wife Hannah baptised in 1820 in Ensham

I can not find a marriage or a burial for her in Ensham registers

Hope it helps

Hi Debbie
Thank you for your help, it certainly looks good and the dates seem to tie up, and the James's seem to go back another generation too .
I will go away and digest this info and see if I have any other questions for you
once again many thanks for your help

Hi Debbie
Thank you for your help on Tuesday last it is very interesting, I am wondering if you can help a bit further ??did Kesiah's son James have a father on his birth cert. and is it possible to see when George's wife Hannah died and where, I thought my end of our tree was complicated, but this is beginning to get just as intrigueing, and again what happened to John and who was his Mother, once again I donot seem able to access any records on then.
I know this is very cheeky but I realy do apreciate any help you can offer.
Once again Best Regards
Jim

Hi Jim

I am working from the transcripts of the baptism registers for the parish - not the civil registration documents - there is no father named on the baptism for James s/o Keziah - I don't know if you would be any luckier with the birth certificate - I have my doubts.

John was baptised 5th April 1857 the s/o Emma Ashton - again no father named

George's wife Hannah was buried in Eynsham in 1826 aged 33

Hope it helps

Debbie

Hi Again Debbie
I am back again like a bad penny,it would seem from what you have found That George was married more tham once and Emma & Sarah were from his second marrage do your records show "Who" and any dates, it is certainly begging to show there were an awfull lot of extreamly Randy young ladies in the early family, its not a modern trend after all.

I will now try to leave you in piece to get on with your own research,
Thank you again
