sorry I have taken so long getting back to you.

I have found 3 John Davisons of abt correct age - with father's named James
Occupation of 1 father is Cooper -occupation of another is Seaman and occupation of 3rd was Coal Miner!!!!-not in the area they lived in 1934 -but Coal miners usually moved around collieries for better conditions/pay/housing

Of course this is guess work in parts -but I will now have a look to see if I can find any other names which may ring a bell - or the wedding witnesses

Hi snowy,

I'll have a look and see if my Burradon Davisons are any relation.

I think that I have found your family; was Esther born in West Cramlington?  If so, there is a fair chance that we (well you and my wife) my have the same relations as 'my' Davisons have a West Cramlington connection.

Good luck with your research and I'll get back to you soon.

Hi again, snowy,

Sorry for my tardiness in getting back to this thread.  I found a Family tree on Ancestry that includes Esther and John; however, whilst there are ancesters of Esther (parents were Morden and Ellenor) there are no ancesters of John available although, as he was born in 1910 you may be able to find him on the 1911 census - without a birthplace/date parents it will be quite difficult.

I'll continue to search my lot to see if I can find a John!

Good luck!

I had a quick look at for a DC and discovered a 25 year old John Davison registered in Sep Q of 1934 in Tynemouth (no others near a match) indicating that he may have been born in 1909.

I found 35 John Davisons born during 1909 - as you might expect they were predominantly, but not exclusively, from the north east of England.

Hope this is of some help.

Interested to find out about suzard's 'guess'!

Hi stuartroxy

thanks for the ongoing investigations - I would be really interested if you were able to provide me with any more detail on the family tree in ancestry that you have found.  If its easier to send me a private message and take this off line then thats fine also. Does this mean that somewhere back in the early 20th century myself and your wife are related?

Also I have now found John on the 1911 census as the 2 year old son of James and Mararet E Davison living in Third Row Choppington Colliery - interestingly with a 7 month old sister Jane White Davison who I never even knew existed!

Another wonderful member of this forum (thanks Michael!) has also very kindly said he would try and scoot past Dudley cemetery where we believe John is buried to check if it has his birth date on his tombstone, so hopefully this will help me track down the correct birth certificate for John.

Finally, I too would love to know what suzards guess was!

thanks everyone
