Hi Annnoe

Welcome to RootsChat  ;)

If you have the full reference for the birth (place, volume and page) you can order the certificate for £7 from the GRO at http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

If you don't know the reference you can possibly find it at http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/

If you have no luck please come back to me on it.

Best wishes

Hi Ticker,
Thanks for the message re Thomas Fletcher.I have tried, free bmd and Yorkshire
Bmd but get no joy from either of the sites. I have been on a detective site but they
want £27.00 for a certificate and I think that is a bit too much to give for a certificate,
and would not really know if it was my Gt Grandfather or not. Do you know if there is a place in Pickering that do BMD I have looked on the net but cannot find any.Thank you for trying to help me before maybe you can come up with another solution.
