Greetings , and Thank you for such an interesting forum ! In my recent quest into my Bryant family History, I have obtained a few old photos that I was able to scan and bring home with me. I live on the West Coast of the USA , about 2hrs west of Seattle. My deceased Father and his ancestors are from the old South -North Georgia and South Carolina. Family lore has the oldest ancestry migrating from Scotland.
I am attaching a scan of an old tintype , found among a bunch of tintype pictures in an old family album. Also a scan of a Group Photo of relatives whom I have yet to Identify.
I would be grateful for any help with dating and restoration

He N8, lovely photos. The first one about 1905 or so, the lady with the baby about mid-late 1880s.

All tintypes are reversed because they are negatives

These scans are a bit low quality for restoration, though. You will have much better results if you:
1. Scan at high resolution, about 300 dpi. See below for what restorers see when they enlarge a low-resolution photo to restore.
2. Scan in colour, and in photo mode. I think some of these are done in newspaper mode or similar.
3. Start a separate thread for each photo.
