Distillery Cooperage in Drogheda
« on: Tuesday 20 July 10 14:08 BST (UK) »
Hi to everyone on the Louth forum. I'm looking for information regarding a cooperage run by a man called Christopher Hegarty who lived in Mary Street and died in 1932.I think the distillery was owned by either Cairnes or Preston's.

Hope someone in the area will have some information for me.
Thank you.
Hegarty,Taylor

Here's Christopher and family in 1911 census living at Clinton's Lane-

Perhaps old directories will show details of the distillery.

Hi aghadowey,

Yes I've already seen that particular entry in the 1911 Census. They lived on Clinton's Lane and then moved to Mary Street as that's where my grandmother grew up.

Where does one access street directories for Drogheda?

There are some links to directories listed in LOUTH RESOURCES at the top of this board - although a bit early might be worth checking there.
