You could request a copy of the certificate for a minimum order of $4 as shown on this form:  http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/RG/images/FReqMicrofilm.pdf  You should be able to find the appropriate film for the certificate number needed, in order to fill out the form, here:  http://www.rootschat.com/links/09aa/

The more expensive alternative would be to order from the NYC archives:  http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/html/vitalrecords/marriage.shtml

Shelly,

Thank you very much - Conseiller/Luc, will be extremely grateful for that information, he was on the point of giving up yesterday so hopefully he can make a little more progress with the information the Certificate might give him.

Do you think there would be any chance of obtaining Obituaries for the sons George & William Warnken ?
Would an enquiry at a public library have any chance of turning up that information for him ?

Once again, grateful thanks.
Regards.
Sandra

I'd expect better luck looking for the branch that lived in Bethpage than the folks in NY City.  There's a volunteer in Nassau Co. on raogk.org that does obit look-ups.

Unfortunately for Luc, the link to the Long Island newspaper Newsday gives a  bit of information from the article and then requires payment for access to the rest.

As for obituaries of the Warnkens who lived in Manhattan, they are likely to have appeared in the New York Daily News or the New York Post. The Post archives only go back to 1998. I searched the archives Warnken, but found nothing. The Daily News does not seem to have an online archive.

Thank you John, that is a shame - never mind - something else might come to light.  I think Luc is trying the Nassau RAOGK route which might throw up some other information hopefully.  It sounds as if he has some very interesting lines to search and is quite thrilled with it all - which is fantastic.

Regards.
