Thanks Elaine
I checked out the pictures you suggested. I can see why the buildings were demolished. I will contact the Inverclyde Council and see what, if any, records are available. Thanks for the help.

Hello.

As I have seen "honestman" photos of the Clyde and Renfrewshire on various postings, I went looking for alternative means for contacting him. If you are a "Blogger" you may try through that site.

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:H44FPIRqZjAJ:www.blogger.com/profile/14945361096695611141+honestman+renfrewshire&cd=11&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=nz&source=www.google.co.nz

However it is possible that he is currently not monitoring his various postings, and not activated email notifications of forum activity.

Dear Stephen,
How kind of you to offer to take pictures of sites of interest in Renfrewshire. For those of us who live too far away to visit the sites ourselves you are godsend. I'm new to Rootschat and posted my first requests today one of which was concerning the Mosside Brickwork which was locared in Cathcart. Are you familiar with it? Does it still exist? Another place of interest is "Millbrae" in Cathcart as listed in the 1871 census for William Allan's place of residence. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Stephen,
I would just like to thank you for your generous offer and hope you can help.

I've just found the death cert. of one of my ancestors who died in 1856
and on her certificate it says she was buried in the UP Churchyard,
Oakshaw St. Paisley.
Is this one of the places you may already have photographs of?
Is so, her name was Margaret Smith (nee Guthrie) wife of John Smith,
died 16 Nov.1856.
Even a pic of the churchyard would be nice as I'm sure a headstone that old would
be unlikely to still be there.

Cheers,
Marie

Hello.

Honestman has not been active for a while. Two others who I know have been active either side of the White Cart (Renfrewshire/Lanarkshire) with their camera, and volunteering help for those of us on the otherside of the world, is fellow poster:-
daval57 whom you could try with a private message,
or
Mr BLAIKIE who's site "scotcities" has pictorial coverage of the area, and is prepared to offer help, where able.

I am a keen photographer and family historian living in Renfrew. If any one is looking for any photos of sites in Renfrewshire and is unable to get here give me a shout and I will see if I can help. I have many photos of historical sites around Renfrewshire and am happy to go and get others if it helps anyone in their family history quest. As I seem to spend half my time wandering around cemeteries looking for graves or memorials would be no problem. I will happily pass on any photos I get free of charge.
