Hi Julie, the house in your family tree is in Kings Road, Malvern Wells and is now number 33 I think. If you look at street view on maps you will see it is in a terrace of 4 houses. It is not the house in the photo at the top of this thread.

Hope this helps a bit. If you have any more Malvern questions then please get in touch.

Netti, are you saying that the Ormonde Cottage that Julie’s Wood family was living in in 1891 and 1911 is not the same Ormonde Cottage that is in the photo?  :-\

(or have I misunderstood?)

Yes that 's right Ruskie.

Original poster Nick found photo in family collection. Searched for an Ormonde Cottage in 1911 and found the one in Malvern Wells despite having no known connection to the area. Coincidentally a family named Wood were in residence - his family name. Wondered if the photo showed the Malvern Wells house - it doesn't. I think his Ormonde Cottage is more likely in the area his Woods are from ("up north")

But Julie is related to the Woods at Ormond Cottage, Malvern Wells in 1891/1911, now 33 Kings Road, Malvern Wells. Does this make better sense  :)

Ah yes, I see. That makes sense Netti.  :)

So you think Nick and Julie both having Wood ancestors is just a co-incidence?

Yes I think so. If Nick has done more research since this ancient thread maybe he knows the answer and will update us eventually :)

If he does get in touch, ask him if there is a "Copyright" stamp on the back. That may give you an idea as to the area it is/was located.

Yes, it will be interesting to see what Nick has discovered about the house in the intervening years, if anything. :)
