Thanks Kris for your help, input and links.  All this will keep me busy for the rest of the week and beyond.  I think Cornwall now makes the 14th county/country where I've found my ancestors and rellies living.  It's a never ending learning curve.

I'm actually researching the Reed family who married into the Manley family.  But some evidence seems to suggest that the Manley family may have originated from Lancashire.   Joseph Manley and Ann Rablyn Reed's son James was born in Coniston in Lancashire, according to the 1861 census.  I think their son Samuel may have married Ann Reed in Wales, and the 1861 Wales census for them indicates that he was from Lancashire.
