Hi I am William David Pearson, 3rd son of William & Maud Pearson ( nee Bradley) . Both died in 1952-53. My daughter Sharron did a family tree for both families for my 70th birthday and I have tried to carry on, now and then.
One name puzzled me for ages, my brother's name Donald who died age 5 in 1933. I started searching again and found his name in what I thought was another Pearson family, but it could be our family.
The fore names crop up time and time again not only in the children but on documents.
If it is the same family they originally came from Stainland  Calderdale. I have been trying trace John Pearson born Eccles 1816 to confirm it is the same family.
Regards Bill

The 1901 census has no entry for Donald Pearson or Donald Bradley born or living in Lancashire.

The 1911 has a Donald Pearson b 1905 living in Salford and also a Donald Bradley b 1906 living in Salford

Hi. I realise it's several years since this thread started but I'm interested. The Thomas Pearson (n° 5) and Strawberry Hill reference caught my eye. From the Lancashire online parish clerk project, the below entry seems to be linked.

Marriage: 13 Feb 1871 St George, Pendleton.
Thomas Pearson - 20, Brickmaker, Bachelor, Strawberry Hill & Maria Alice Hoyle - 18, Spinster, Strawberry Hill. Groom's Father: James Pearson, Brickmaker. Bride's Father: Charles Hoyle, Dyer. Witness: Edwin Tinsley; Ann Rothwell.

There were 3 baptisms on 4 Oct 1876 Christ Church, Salford, children of Thomas Pearson & Maria Alice.  Abode: 27 Augusta St., Pendleton. Occupation: Brick Maker. Ann, born 10 Sep 1876; Jane, born 19 Aug 1973 and Margaret Alice, born 7 Jun 1871.

I wonder if this is the same family you refer to. I'm curious as to a) why 3 baptisms on the same day b) what happened to these 3 girls. I can only find a potential marriage for Margaret Alice in 1892 to a James Ogden. Thanks in advance for any ideas/comments.

Shows a death for Ann Pearson, 0 years, December quarter 1876

Your family are at 1881 3949/ 63/28
Thomas and Maria A, with daughters Margaret A and Jane.

Perhaps baby Ann was sick which prompted the baptisms.

There are these marriages from Lancashire BMD

1893 Charles Woodward and Jane Pearson

1896 James Holden and Jane Pearson

1901 3720 /96/19
Jane Woodward 27 yrs b Pendleton

There is a James and Jane Holden, 37 yrs b Swinton so this one doesn’t look like your Jane.

Thanks Heywood (sorry for the delay in responding) for your insights. I must have gone down the wrong road because you mention Ann Pearson had died as an infant whereas the one I'm possibly interested in was aged 45 on the 1921 census. Probably a novice's mistake of forgetting that not all records have been transcribed!
