Creek/Timms of Rousham
« on: Sunday 25 July 10 20:02 BST (UK) »
Can anyone confirm the birthyear of Mary Timms of Rousham? She married Edmund Creek/Creake on 24th May 1724 at Rousham and I have 1703 or 1709.
Thomas Creak, Edmund's father, married Mary in 1694 at Rousham, can anyone give me a birthyear, date of marriage or maiden name for her.
Thankyou.

Hi ...

I checked the OFHS's Oxfordshire Marriage Index (1538-1837), but the only marriage between a Thomas CREEK(E)/CREAK(E) and a Mary (anywhere!) was in Rousham in 1663 - possibly the parents of your Thomas?

What is your source for the 1694 marriage?

I had found it on the IGI whilst trying to do a draft of the potential generations of Creake's of Rousham prior to Elizabeth Creek ?b.1729 Steeple Aston or 1731 Rousham, d.1803 Steeple Aston, who married John Stevens b. 1728, d 1804. They married 3rd September 1749 at St. Giles, Oxford.  I am trying to establish if Elizabeth was of Steeple Aston or Rousham but as the villages are close perhaps I won't discover her parents. Thankyou for looking.  I had the 1663 and 1724 marriage and was trying to estalish the generation in between.

Checked Steeple Aston and Rousham registers.

Elizabeth Creak bapt. 9/5/1731 in Rousham

buriel 1803 Steeple Aston.

Couldn't find a bapt. for Mary Timms around 1700's.

Found 2 children of Edmund and Mary:
Thomas bapt. 17/9/1725
Richard bapt. 4/2/1725 think I have the wrong year, will check

Thank you for the link.  The two Creek's of the document are in my tree, descending from one of the brothers of an earlier generation and supports the professions of both.
