James Sainsbury
« on: Sunday 25 July 10 20:43 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Can anyone help, I have found the family I am looking for Sainsbury in 1881 census, Francis, Annie, the parents, Son George b.1878 James b. 1882 Ivy b.1885 and Roy b.1887.

James is the one I am interested in as I can find no record for him in the 1901 census, can anyone help please.

Was James really Frederick James B Sainsbury??

I expect you have found this
1901 Annie Sainsbury was a widow and had 2 children living with her Ethel Ivy (who is Ivy in 1891) and Farncis Basil Sainsbury.

I also suspect that Roy Sainsbury (in 1891) is really Edgar Arthur Roy Sainsbury

Seemms like this is a family who sometimes use their middle (or even 3rd ) name sometimes

Having said that I cant locate james in 1901 - There are a lot of young men absent from 1901 census as they were away fighting the Boer War

Was James in the armed forces???

The info I have is very sketchy, I believe Roy died as a child so I wonder if the name was used again ?
Would James have been old enough for the Boar War he was born around 1882.
