Where are Winbagkil & Knowkham?
« on: Monday 26 July 10 18:10 BST (UK) »
In my research of Russell families around Slamannan, I came across births of children born to two different families. One was born in Winbagkil, the other in Knowkham, Lanark. Anyone have any ideas where these places are located??
Main, Mitchell; Stirlingshire
Drummond; Perth
Florence; Aberdeen

Can you supply details and post images of the original documents where you found those place names?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Thanks, Anne.

I must say I find it pretty irritating when people post the same question in more than one place, leading to a lot of duplication of effort by those keen to help.
