Thank you both

I have never seen native of this parish when searching records, just thought of this parish meant they were born there, so thanks Michael I didn't realise that.

Thanks for the info on George Fair (Farr). I was looking at the 1841 census and it has a Julie Fair age 20 born 1821 so if Ann was a widow this must have been her daughter and not George's?

I'm assuming there must have been more than one child because if they married in 1827, Sarah wasn't born until 1841. Family search is undergoing maintainence at the moment so cannot do any checking.  Haven't found a birth for Sarah yet.

Alan

That looks promising as George's father was another George. Perhaps I was one generation out, though on George's marriage cert, George Farr senior is a Sailor though this was in 1859 when George jnr married.
I wonder if the 1841 one is therefore not the correct person as there is another George Far living in Sculcoates, married, living with a Sarah, born out of county of Yorkshire, with a young family. 2nd daughter is called Ann  :-\

Just found similar details in familysearch for George though this has him born in 1804, dates and months the same as yours Alan, just one year out.

I have searched for a possible birth year for George snr in Lincoln and there are 2 I can see one born in 1783, so possibly unlikely as he would have only been 13 (though i know they did marry young) and one born in 1773 in Epworth.

What do you think?

Lottee,

I think you need to look for George Farr (snr) burial record, to get an estimate of his age at death. Looks like he may have died between 1803 and 1808.

A marriage at Hartlepool St. Hilda,
14 Apr 1808. William Taylor (Bachelor) married Ann Fare (Widow)
Witnesses:  William Boundsley, Elizabeth Burrows

A baptism at Hartlepool St. Hilda,
15 Feb 1815. Thomas Taylor, son of William Taylor (Mariner) & Ann Fazer Corner.

George Farr is living in Union St., North Shields in 1851. Living in the next street, Bell St., possibly his mother, worth further research :

Ann Taylor, Head, Widow, 71, Pauper, b. Durham, Hartlepool.
William Taylor, Grandson, 11, Scholar, b. Northd,      do.
Job Taylor, Grandson, 8, Scholar,        b.  Do,            do.

Ok that answers that question.

Charlotte being registered as a Stewart is interesting. Robert, Jane's first husband was alive in 1841 and living in Bell Street and I think he died about 1846 so still assuming that Charlotte is George's daughter as her marriage cert shows her father as George + if Robert had died in 1846 he is not going to be the father + she shows up as a Farr in 1851 whereas the other children remain Stewarts.

Can I ask where did you find Charlotte's details?

Going back to Charlotte Farr, I have found her christening record which shows her birth date as 1st June 1850, Tynemouth christened 2nd Nov 1860, parents George and Jane, age 10.

I have also found your 1849 entry for Charlotte Stewart, Tynemouth so a little confusing.

Iam only assuming this is your Charlottes birth in 1849 as I can find no birth for her as Farr,if her parents were not married she wouldn't have his name on the birth certificate would she,in 1851 George is boarding with Jane Stewart in Bell Street, possibly they were good friends as they marry later on,I think you are going to have to buy a couple of certificates and then you will be able to confirm a few more details.Lots of children were christened years later,my own gran was ten years old,the reason being her mother was still married to a man in the Isle of man and couldn't marry for eight years,
