I see on 1841 census there is a Henry Braithwaite 1821 living with the family, could be Rogers brother or a son from previous marriage.Theres also a Henry 13 son

Thanks for the info.

I know that the Roger listed in 1841 census is my ancestor but how can I find out if it's definitely the same one on IGI?

Hi

This could be Rogers Mum.  Ann Hutton married Henry Braithwaite on 27th December 1802 at Whitkirk.  Whitkirk was a small village near Leeds but over time is now part of Leeds. I also looked for Henry Braithwaite and found one born on 10th September 1809 and christened on 26th November 1809 at St Peters Church, and his Father is also Henry so this could be Rogers brother.
Sometimes ancestry can be abit of a guessing game but the area and Churches are similar and the Church at Whitkirk is in Leeds but probably where the bride lived which is normally where they married in those days.

I also looked for the birth of a Henry Braithwaite in the 1780's which is probably when Henry was born and there are two possibles both being born in Yorkshire but more research there I think!

If anyone else finds out anything more I am sure they will come on and help

regards
