1841 and 1851 census - Monkwearmouth Shore, St. Peters - DODDS
« on: Friday 01 April 05 15:57 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find information on the family of William Dodds. He was born in Sunderland around 1841.

His marriage cert. lists George Dodds (pilot - deceased) as his father. The 1871 census shows him living at Bewick's Court with his mother Jane (b. 1798 - widow), brother George R. (b. 1829) and brother Robert (b. 1838).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help, but I don't think that this is the right family - too many inconsistencies. William also had a sister Sarah, born around 1832. Also, the birthplace should be Sunderland for all of them.

I expected them to be in Monkwearmouth, but if they don't show up there then I guess maybe they were still in Sunderland at the time of the 1851 census?
