Castletownbere, Co. Kerry ?
« on: Tuesday 27 July 10 20:52 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,
I have just searched through the Irish genealogy online records (I wish they had been around when I started searching !). I found an entry for a possible ancestor, Walter Glover. I have traced my line back to 1837 and reckon that Walter is my link to go further back.
This is what I found

Could some kind person advise me on where to turn next. I have never searched records from Castletownbere and I am not sure where to start.
Many thanks

The town of Castletownbere is actually in Co. Cork, but quite close to the border with Kerry. I suspect the RC parish includes areas in both counties.

Thanks Shane,
You seem to be answering ALL my queries ! My own personal genealogist  :) I just thought it was a bit strange when Castletownbere was listed under Kerry. It must be in same diocese or something,
Thanks again
Jan
