Senols family
« on: Wednesday 28 July 10 08:42 BST (UK) »
hi,

I am looking for people with the surname Senols. Primarily in London, but there may be a link to Norfolk.
There are very few of them -maybe  less than 50 individuals on all websites, archives and directory's that I can access.
References  appear from late 1700's, but nothing prior to that - possibly due to altered spelling of surname.

Any information would be welcome.

Cooper, Wilkins, Taylor, Hawley, Chignall, Pavey, Woodland, Snelson, Smith (unfortunately) - Its endless really

Hi

If you are doing a blanket search you might want to consider a two week free trial on Ancestry and search the London parish registers (censuses) that have been indexed so far if you have not already done so

http://landing.ancestry.co.uk/lma/default.aspx

I believe you are also able to obtain the library edition of Ancestry in Australia?

Otherwise it is difficult to help without knowing what has already been accessed without going over the same ground you have already checked and know.

You might consider registering the surname in the Rootschat surname interest table

http://surname.rootschat.com/

Have you considered joining the Guild of One Name Studies if you are interested in a one name study of this surname?

Hi Valda,

Thanks for the quick response.

I have checked Ancestry, Find My Past, The Genealogist, Family Search, a variety of Google searches which provided references from London Archives, Kellys Directory (and others), Old Bailey records.

There are few variations to Senols which are not clearly incorrect - but I have tried some of them.

Being a rare name it was relatively "easy" to review all references, as pretty much everything relates to this particular family.

Any other ideas are welcomed.

From this marriage of James and Jenny, it says he was of St Giles Cripplegate. One of the witnesses was Charles Greenwood.

They had a son Thomas Ball SENOLS I thinks as well as there is a marriage in 1813, where Jane Ball SENOLS was a witness
