My Grandparents Parents

I am looking for the Parents of my grandparents. I am Lesley-Jane Bush I reside in Australia. My father is Micheal Roger Bush he was one of 7 boys. His parents were Eric Alfred Collingwood Bush and May Olive Joesphine Martin. Married in Early 1937 in Edmonton Middlesex. They immigrated to Australia in Late 1955 with 6 of there sons.

Alfred was born 25 October 1916 in Edmonton . He was a member of the 3rd Enfield Boys Brigade His Mothers Maiden Name was Harvey. He also served in the second world war.

May was born 6 November 1915 in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. Her mothers Maiden Name was Fowler.

I am told that May became an orphan at a young age. She was never adopted though. She lived in the orphanage until old enough to work when apparently a relative got her out to use her to make money.

Do you have Eric and Mays marriage certificate which will give fathers names and occupations?

Ancestry has a marriage between Francis J Bush and Louisa M Harvey in Jun qtr 1915 Chelsea 1a 1138.  Eric Arthur's birth cert will confirm if this is the correct marriage.

I cant see an obvious Martin -> Fowler marriage, so you will have to get May's Birth Certificate to reveal her parents full names

Looks like Ancestry have got Arthur Alfred Bush's WW1 service record - married to Louisa Harvey at St Luke's Church, Enfield.  Current address 61 Cedar Terrace, Enfield.  Height 5 ft 6, chest size 36 1/2 inches


Died 24/1/1919 of influenza.  Buried at Belgrade Communal Cemetery

Forgot to add regiment number - 124836.
