I found in the 1881 census Samuel and Harriet both 73 years living at 1 duke street Eastbourne with widowed daughter Sarah Verrall and her three children. strange that the same name comes around the generation later. I think Fanny and Sarah must be the same person on the census as 37 years.

Thanks for all this info there's loads

Hi,

The Sarah Verrall you found in the 1881 census is the daughter in law of Samuel and Harriet. In 1871 she is with husband David Verrall, son of Samuel and Harriet, plus their first child Tilden? RG10/1040 Folio 81 Page 32

Let me know if you want any of them looking up on the other censuses.

Regards
Cat  :)

I think Fanny may have married a (William) Albert Rich (a Bricklayer) in 1874, and lied about her age, as she is 27 on the 1881 census and 31 on the 1891 census!
