Two other children also born in York County, Ontario
Twins
Christina Currance Galloway and James Moyes Galloway born 27 March 1906.

From your post elsewhere William Masterton Galloway b. 1908 married 1940 in England and died 1976 in England with his father Thomas dead before his 1940 marriage.

Not coming up in 1911 in Canada Census nor spotting anything else in Canada after 1908 birth of William.

I think the family, mother & the 4 children at least, returned to Scotland when William was abt a year old:

PASSENGER LIST to UK:
SS Ionian - Departed Montreal, Quebec - Canada, Arrived Glasgow, Scotland on 5 Sep 1909
Embarked: Montreal, 2nd Class
Mrs GALLOWAY, Housewife, Scotch, single or unaccompanied by spouse
Annie GALLOWAY, child
James GALLOWAY, child
Christina GALLOWAY, child
Wm GALLOWAY, child

If Thomas was still alive, he may have followed later or went ahead earlier.

Cheers

Index a marriage

Christina Curra* GALLOWAY in 1937, in Fife, in Dunfermline

Do you already know some of this, Lisa? For eg: do you already know that Lizzie MOYES was from Dunfermline and/or may have returned there with her children -  I ask because you also posted this topic onto the end of an old thread by another Rootschatter, whose MOYES were from Dunfermline....

Between 1909 and 2006, Scotlands People record three GALLOWAY deaths, where 'other surname' is MOYES

    All 3 are in Fife.
    None are " Liz* "
One is " Eliz* " which the index allows to  expand  to  "Elizabeth"
This Elizabeth died in Dunfermline in 1949.
Her indexed age at death is 77.

So an Elizabeth GALLOWAY / MOYES born abt 1872 died in Dunfermline, Fife in 1949 (or 1948 if she died late 1948 but was registered 1949)

While from this, we don't know if this deceased is maiden name MOYES, married GALLOWAY or vice-versa - I'd say it's looking promising and worth the gamble in purchasing/downloading the Death Cert from SP........

.......Especially considering the IGI has the following Extracted birth record:

Elizabeth MOYES b 12 Jun 1872, Dunfermline, Fife
Parents: William MOYES and Ann CROMBIE

It is Scottish naming custom to name the first dau. after maternal Grandmother and 2nd son after Maternal grandfather.  The pattern fits for Thomas GALLOWAY and Elizabeth/Lizzie  MOYES' children.

By the same pattern and clues in children's middle names,  it might be proposed that Thomas GALLOWAY's parents were named James GALLOWAY & Christina (possibley CURRANCE?).  And  in 1901 in Dunfermline there is a Thomas GALLOWAY b abt 1879 Kinross, a Tailor whose parents are named James & Christina - can follow this family if you need details.
