Many thanks for your replies. I have been away hence the delay. It is correct that they came from Braade in Glencolmcille. John Osborne married a Elizabeth (Bessie) nee Maxwell about 1843. They had at least  seven children the eldest (Hannah) married Moses McNelis. Their decedents now live in England. John and Bessie had a son James (born 1846)and he (married Mary O'Reilly of Drimroe in 1877) and his family are recorded in the 1901 census. I have no further details after that date. However the additional information you have given me will be followed up.
Another son David (born 1851)went to Australia and his decedents live the the Adelaide, their surname name being Philip. The Osborne name died out as David as far as I know only had daughters.
Another son George  (born 1849)  joined the RIC  and married a Charlotte Smallhorn from Portarlington, Co Laoise and I am his decedent.

Philip Osborne   :)

many thanks for your help

My great grandfather, David Osborne, emigrated to Australia. He married Ruth Ann Dalton. They had two daughters, Elizabeth (known as Bessie) and Ruth. Ruth married Percy Phillip and lived in Victoria around the Ballarat area. Bessie, my grandmother, married a William Dunn and had 3 sons. They lived in Trentham, Victoria. The middle son, Brian Osborne Dunn, was my father. I would love to be in contact with any relatives and to share any information.

Hannah in the 1901 census was a widow.

Here's the death of her husband, Moses Manelis in Brade [sic] in 1894. Note that James Osborne, his brother-in-law was the informant.
