Albert Furlong - died 1946
« on: Saturday 31 July 10 03:03 BST (UK) »
Would anyone be able to find further information regarding my ancestor Albert Furlong.

Record of Death
Albert T B Furlong March Quarter 1946 aged 68 Northampton Volume 3b page 90.

I have no idea how long he was in Northampton, or why? I know he was blind, so maybe he was a piano tuner or other profession typical of the blind. Trade directory could hold a clue maybe?

Any help would be great!

Hi Andy, found him in 1901 census living 3 St. James Sq., Northampton as a boarder with a Bryan family.

Albert Furlong, boarder, single, b. 1878 Upton, Buckinghamshire, basket maker.  Blind from childhood

Can't see him at the moment in 1891 but I think this may be him with his family in 1881 although he is listed as Albert E Furlong.

11 Leaf Square, Pendleton, Salford, Lancashire

John Furlong, head, b. 1849 Sheston, Pembrokeshire, School Master
Elizabeth F Furlong, wife, b. 1849 Manorbier, Pembrokeshire
Kelly T B Furlong, son, b. 1876 Slough, Bucks
Albert E Furlong, son, b. 1878 Slough, Bucks, Blind
Elizabeth A Furlong, daur, b. 1879 Cardiff
James L Furlong, son, b. 1881 Cardiff
Ann Lewis, servant, b. 1817 Walsall

I'll have another look for the 1891 tomorrow, need some sleep now  ;D

Yep, that's him, but he sometimes appears as Albert E Furlong for some reason. Maybe a trancriber error, I'm not sure.

We're not allowed to post details of the 1911 census, but I hope I won't get in touble :-X for confirming that he is living with the same family, same occupation, same town as he was in 1901.
