Hi Arranroots,

Just found the family on the 1891 census and just to add to my misery  Hannah is on there under the name of Hannah Price, if I don't go grey soon it will be a miracle got to get the certs to sort this out, cause even the Lewis that you found changes his name from Lewis to Louis depending on which census your looking at but I am going to spell it Louis as that is what is on my nan and grandads wedding lines the only thing I have consistent is L****'s occupation - Cigar Maker that is the same on all.

I am even more confused than I was before

I have found a family in the 1871 welsh census

Jane Natton         18   Chippenham Wilts            Daughter   
Caroline Natton    11  Chippenham Wilts             Daughter
William Natton      8    Chippenham Wilts             Son
Ada Natton           6    Chippenham Wilts             Daughter

Jane Natton          20   Union  daughter in law

They are living in Grangetown and Llandaff In Glamorgan

The ages fit for all the other information that I do have but the names are different apart from Hannah,  I guess thia could be Hannah's second marriage would it have been normal for a girl to use the name of the head of the family even if it was not her's when she married.

I cannot find a marriage for Hannah and William or for Hannah and a Mr Natton if anyone could help me out there I would be grateful.

It certainly looks like them - never thought to look in Wales 

I think the surname looks more like NEWTON 

Furthermore it says Elizabeth daughter 24 married so perhaps she is a NEWTON by marriage and the others aren't but the enumerator just forgot to re-enter the RICE    Just another way of looking at things.

Perhaps Caroline's marriage certificate will iron a couple of things out.
