Yes thats my family too,
his son Robert bapt 28-12-1800 married Betty Haigh at Almondbury in 1823
he moved to the Holme Valley.
There is a problem with Joseph there was one bapt at Emley 15-5-1757 but according to Emley PR's he died in 1763 he was the son of Joseph and Lydia
now I think there is a mistake in the PR's I think it was his younger brother James who died mainly because I can't find a marriage or any further info on him, Joseph b 1757 is the only one of the right age in the district.

Hi Judith

How lovely.

I don't think all the High Hoyland or Emley records are on the IGI so I am not building up Mary's tree very quickly.  How many children did Joseph and Rebbecca have please?

Yes, that's the baptism date I have for Mary, that is if she is 'my' Mary.  If she died in 1790 then she will not be from my line and I am running out of Mary's to trace.

The Mary I am researching married David FIRTH 3 Mar 1814 at High Hoyland.  She died 2 Feb 1865.

High Hoyland Monumental Inscriptions

G 7

Here lieth the remains of/James son of David and/Mary FIRTH of Clayton West/in this parish who died May/8th 1838. Aged 5 years. Also/Elizabeth their Daughter, wife/of John HARGREAVES who died/August 11th 1858. Aged 21 years./Also the above David/FIRTH died March 23rd/1845. Aged 51 years./Also Mary wife of the/above David FIRTH who/Died February 2nd 1865. Aged 75 years./Upright stone. Angels holding a crown.

I would be so grateful if you could check on Mary, in the 3 census I have found her her DOB works out about 1790 and in 1851/1861 she says place of birth is Clayton West.

Looks like the Mary bapt 20-3-1791 Emley died 31-10-1791.
I think the Mary bapt at H H of Clayton 1791 must be yours.
