Do records exist for law writers?
« on: Monday 02 August 10 16:48 BST (UK) »
My ggg-grandfather was a law writer.

These were persons who copied legal documents. Think Nemo in Bleak House.

Does anyone know if there are records kept of the names of law writers?

Thanks

Hi

Only if he was qualified as a solicitor or barrister. If he was a clerk who worked for a court or a solicitor then unlikely.
