If you have time and it is not too much trouble, that would be amazing.
Septimus was the owner of Black Callerton Colliery from 1863 until his death in 1880.

Thank you for the kind offer

Hi all

We can definitely rule out the marriage in 1878.

I have found the burial record for Hannah a few days after her son Anthony (6 days) in 1873.  So the marriage if it ever happened has to have been before then.

I have found their son William in 1881 living with his Grandmother and 2 unmarried Aunts in Ryton.

Regards

Emma

Hi,

I think it was your Septimus who married Hannah Poole in 1878.  Hannah is a 33 year old widow on the 1881 census and has her brother  William Poole staying with her.  Also shown was a 8 and a half year old step daughter called Clara born Callerton.

It still doesn`t help us find his other marriage though  :'(

Mo

I agree, found the christening for Clara and have found her on census 1881-1901.  I'll see if I can find where she is on 1911.

Thanks

Yes this is the same Clara Forster, do you have a connection?

However Hannah Poole is not her mother.

Hi Emma,

Alas, no good news from me.  I could find no sign of a marriage for Septimus in Newburn so am assuming that Hannah came from another parish and they married there.

The odd thing I noticed was that, apart from the two burials there are no other records for this man.  It is likely that Anthony was baptised at home but there is equally no baptism that I could find for William.  I should have checked on his age in 1871 before I went  :-\

Plenty of other Forster people in the parish though.

Christine

Thanks for looking.  These Forsters are a strange bunch and seem good at hiding their tracks.  Septimus wasn't related to the other Forsters in Newburn.  Although they may connect up a few generations back, but until I work out who his grandparents were that isn't going to happen.

I'll assume for the time being that Septimus and Hannah number 1 didn't marry.  I'll check Ryton parish for the baptisms of William and Clara as that was the home parish of Septimus and where his family are all buried.

Again, thank you for looking.
