1841 census look up please

I have had a look at the Free CEN site and found one Margaret Kitchen but she is the wrong age.

Could someone, who has access to other censuses , see if there are any more.

Margaret was born c 1820 according to the 1851 census where she is married.  She married in 1842.  She was born in Duffus.  I am hoping she is still living with her parents.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

I cant find her in 1841 Census but this may be of interest;

Margaret KITCHIE,
Christened/Baptised 13 September 1818, Duffus, Moray, Scotland
Birth, 03 September 1818
Parents, Alexander KITCHIE and Margaret McLEAN

Then with searching under variants of Kitchen we have;
James Mckenzie, 30
Jane Mckenzie    30
James Mckenzie    4
Alexander Mckenzie 2
Peter Mckenzie    8 Mo
Margaret KETCHIE, 20, F S, born Moray
Duffus/4/10/70
Jane may be a possible Sister.
I will see later what else I can find.

Do you not have the Marriage Cert of her and James Williamson?

Thanks for giving me all this information.

The date of birth is different but the marriage is the same.
I have not seen the Old Parish Records for the marriage of Margaret.  There may be a mention of her parents.  Some times you get lucky.

One either loves coincidences or hate them.

One of the Williamson daughters from another side of the family  in the next generation of James married a McKenzie.

Nothing can be ruled out.

In 1855 they emigrated.

Hi Trish

I have just been in touch with someone else doing the Kitchen tree and find the birth you found in 1818 is the correct person.  I see there is also a birth in 1813 for Alexander to the same parents Alexander and Margaret.  I am going to see if there are any more births then I might ask for more help in finding them in the censuses.

I have had a quick look for Alexander born Alves, Moray 1813, but no luck.
Could he have emigrated earlier?

Could well have emigrated.  I have just found that his sister Sarah Jane Kitchen was living abroad in 1850.

I need to sort out some information I have just been given on another thread which concerns this family so I would not do any more looking on my behalf just now.  I don't want you wasting your time.

Just to say it would appear that this family did emigrate.  If I have the correct family, they are recorded in  the 1850 USA census, minus Alexander.

Thats great Betty that you have found them.
So does that then appear that there were no direct Family members left in Scotland?
