Following three couples
« on: Monday 09 August 10 12:18 BST (UK) »
I have the 1881 census returns for the Charterhouse, Hull, and would like to trace more detail on three of the pensioner couples who were then living there.  I would appreciate any earlier census details for them.
1.  Michael Sarder, 78, b. Scarborough, with wife Sarah Ann Sarder, 63, b. Cottingham
2. William Suddaby, 74, b. Sculcoates, with wife Mary, 75, also b. Sculcoates
3. John Sleet, 73, b. London, with wife Rachel, 77, b. Hull

I'm grounded by illness at the moment and so can't get to the History Centre to look things up myself.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

Thanks.  The Sleets are the only couple whose marriage I could trace (and John's birth).  I suspect the Sarders are the victims of mistranscription.
