anna jackson
« on: Monday 09 August 10 13:46 BST (UK) »
i am trying to find the birth of a anna/hannah jackson in 1919 but not sure where to look.

i have her marriage certificate, which says she married in the register office in 1940 in the district of st pancras, age 21,  address 129 hampstead road,  her fathers name is barnet jackson, occupation- tailor.

i did check the 1911 for barnet, only one i could find was living in leeds with his wife and children,  but there seems to be a 10 year gap between last child and anna being born.

anna/hannah died in 1946 in the national temperance hosp, st pancras.

would i be right in thinking that if she married and died in st pancras then she would have been born there.

hope someone can help me please

love

Qtr 4.1919 Islington
Mother's maiden surname: Posener
Ref: 1b 687

Brother Henry - Qtr 4.1916 Holborn - 1b 1018

Can't see a Jackson/Posener marriage though

According to a Family Tree on Ancestry, Barnett was born in Poland and in 1911 was living at 11 Grey Street, Leeds.  His wife's name was Rebecca and their first child, Solomon, was born in Leeds in 1903.

Maybe they didn't get married?  Might be a case of investing in the 1919 birth certificate?  Dazey

Hi Maria 1,
Wonder if you could clarify a couple of points please.

1 You say the 1911 census has only 1 Barnett Jackson. I have found 2, one in Leeds and 1 in Manchester. Not having subscription to FindMyPast does the entry say the one in Leeds was a tailor?
2. The 1911 census shows a Barnet/Rebecca the other a Barnet/Annie. However cant find either on 1901 census.
One other thing, theres a marriage in Leeds March 1/4 1915 of a Barnet Jackson/Barnet Harris to an Ada Needham. However cannot find at present the birth of an Annie/Hannah Jackson with mothers maiden name Needham. Sorry if this has clouded the waters.
