Mimosa is Ancestry UK any good?  I am considering subscribing but would appreciate your opinion.

Many thanks, Sue

Hi Sue

I have found out some really good information from the site this is the second time I have subscribed its easier to use this time round they seemed to have sorted it out so it is easier to find information. I though it was a bit expensive at first but the information I found made it worth the money and now they have a three different tariffs I think that makes it easier.

Gosh Ancestry must have dreamed up the phone & directories bit just to annoy ME!!    ;D ;D

I'm on the UK version of the site too and I'm delighted 'cos the Welsh 1901 has just arrived.  Had got to the point where I had more or less covered all my own research on the other censuseseses (hello Bob!  ;D ;D)

I'll bet the Directory thingy will pop up when you are least expecting it!!

Thanks for that Mimosa, I have a birthday soon so will probably suggest a subscription to Ancestry when I`m asked what I`d like.  I never know what I want and it drives them all mad  ;D

And if anyone knows how to contact the powers that be...

Arranroots  ;)

Hi Arranroots

I am new to this forum and on looking around came across your post.  If you have not found out the above yet, just go into their help icon, this I have done before now.  Usually stars by finding the question related to your needs and goes through to them if not answered, does this make sense?

Hope it helps.

I am a new subscriber to ancestry.co.uk but I haven`t bothered to download the viewer.  I have no problems right clicking to save the images.

Thanks Pam and Sue for your answers.

Since my original post I have upgraded my computer and XP will allow me to save, no probs.  I'm still exploring what it will let me do with the images once I have got them, mind!  ;D

I have found a way of contacting them too.  I think it was via the "my account" section (sorry I can't remember exactly) but I successfully e-mailed them and got a satisfactory reply very quickly.

Things are looking up!

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

ps Hope you had a good birthday, Sue?
