Elizabeth Guy - 1841 & 1851 Census Lookup Please *COMPLETE*

Hi All,

I have been trying to track down 1841 & 1851 census records for an Elizabeth Guy Born 1832 Renfrew, Scotland "*noted down on her age being 19 at her time of marriage", Married on 01 Nov 1851 High Church, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland to a John Dickie. Haven't been able to find a baptismal or birth on Scotland's people as of yet.

The only reference of her age is from her death certificate and her marriage & Immigration record which points to 1832.

Elizabeth and John Immigrated from Scotland to Australia in 1853 on the Beejapore aged 20

She died in 1921 at the age of 88

Hi Gadget,

Thanks for your reply and the lookup, would that mean that she was born in 1834? as if this was the case wouldn't she be underage to get married? at about 17 years of age?

It looks like 1834-ish but ages were often approx/give or take a year or so!  Also, she could have been born late in the year so would appear younger on the censuses.
 
1853 - aged 20 - 1833
1921 - aged 88 - 1833
