Hughes family-Grasmere st- Liverpool

Hi all,

we are trying to trace the family of Willian John Hughes (known as Jack) and his wife Essis- William was born in 1885 and died in 1964 and we think they married in 1908- the had 6 children Jack, Richard, Robert Louis, Lena, Margaret, Gladys
william an Essie lived in Grasmere st all their married lives- can anybody help?

Have you checked the 1911 census for them to establish birthplaces etc

Was Essie a nickname as there is no marriage with that name - what was her maiden name

Have you checked freebmd for any of the childrens births - mothers maiden name was shown from September qtr 1911 onwards

Could Essie be Esther Williams - see marriage on freebmd in 1908

yes! we think essie was esther williams

i have found a birth for
gladys mum maiden williams b liverpool 1916
Margaret b liverpool 1911
robert louis b prescott 1919

still tracking the others!

The marriage is on the IGI Pilot website and was 23.8.1908 - fathers were Richard Hughes and Richard Williams

ive just had a look and got esters birth year!

the other information i have is jack died in 1920- but we have no birth or age or where, and i think he may be called John/William John

Richard Hughes died 1986 but again no birth or age or where

Robert married joan an had 2 sons  no other information

lena, margaret, gladys all married and have family still in liverpool area but know nothing else about them

so still got a lot to find!
