Elizabeth PEAD Married 1814
« on: Thursday 12 August 10 10:01 BST (UK) »
Good Evening Frieds

Elizabeth was married at Kenton Suffolk in 1814 but am unable to find where she was born.   I have checked either side of 1790 for Suffolk but now suspect that she was born elsewhere.   Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.

regards

Did she marry Robert Jnr born c 1794 or 2nd Wife of Robert Snr c 1766 (Plant).
Have you located her on Census entries?

Hi Peter,
Familysearch Pilot has 4 Elizabeth Peads born c 1785-1796 in Oxford, Kent, Glous and Berkshire.
If she was born c 1790 she would probably still be alive in 1841/1851. Unless you know otherwise ;)

Thank you Trish for an interesting perspective.   How easy is it for us to assume that she Married Robert Plant junior without considering that she may have married Robert Plant senior.   I will keep this in mind as I look at the census records.

Peter

They were both "of the parish" of Kenton when they married.  This does not necessarily indicate that this is their place of birth though.  Robert was single so she would appear to have married PLANT junior and not senior.

Rick :)

This might help a little Peter

from the Suffolk Burial Index (SFHS)

Elizabeth PLANT (of Kenton) buried 28 Oct 1827, age 37, wife of Robert jun, Kenton, All Saints.

So if that age is somewhere near right she was born c1790.

Looking at the Suffolk Burial Index there are Pead(e) burials in nearby Laxfield from 1760 on but only one in Kenton

Hannah PEAD 28 Apr 1836 age 83 Kenton All Saints (so born c1753)
