Does anyone have books by Peter Jerome...?
« on: Thursday 12 August 10 11:43 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone
I am wondering if anyone has any books by Peter Jerome and Jonathon Newdick that would be able to look for photographs for me please and maybe if successful in finding wouldn't mind scanning them through to me please?
Some of the books mentioned are:

Tread lightly here
Not submitted elsewhere
Men with laughter in their hearts - told there is at least one - No 56
A shepherds daughter
Cloakbag and common purse
Petworth time out of mind
Petworth winds of change
Old & New teasing and true - told there is 2 of him in this - No 82 and No 73 (page 73)
Tales of old petworth

I'm not sure whether the photographs will mention him by name but it was Robert Tanner.

I hope someone will be able to help as we'd love some photographs of him.
Many thanks

Hi cranstone,
you might get some help if you visit the "Read Any Good Books Lately" thread, started by Lydart.

Walter Kevis, who operated as the portrait photographer in Petworth between 1877 to 1908, took this (undated) photo of "Young Tanner, North Street, Petworth":

Hope that's useful.

Hello aancestorsearch, welcome to RootsChat.

This thread was started in 2010, and cranstone was last active on here last year. Hopefully they will still have the same email address and will receive notification of your post. I'm sure they will be happy to hear from you.
