French to English Translation please. Completed
« on: Thursday 12 August 10 14:28 BST (UK) »
Hi.
Would it be possible for someone to translate this marriage for me please.
The marriage took place in Grace-Uzel in 1713 between Ollivier Gouiete and Heleine Noury.

Thankyou in advance
Sal

I find this type of writing hard to read, and I hope someone will correct me if I am mistaken, but I think the gist of it is that after the banns were published for Ollivier Gouiete in the parish of St Uzel(?) and Heleine Noury of Grace on the 22nd & 29th January(?), no objections were made, and the marriage took place on 23 February(?) 1713, in the presence of the groom's mother, and Guillaum Martin, as well as Pierre and Louis Noury, father and brother of the bride.

Hi

I was just going to post the same thing  :D   I think on the second line, it may say something about Ollivier being of legal age and it might say his age as _?_ five years?  The third bann was read _?_ february last (do you think it says dernier?).  I agree with the dates, what looks like "rings" is "vingt" (twenty).

Another pair of eyes always helps!  Yes, I think Ollivier is vingt-cinq - 25 yrs old.

It does seem to say something about fevrier dernier - I can't decide what the word before fevrier is.

Hi Cntrygrl and Isabel

Thankyou so much your translations have helped a lot.
I have tried using an online translator without much sucess, i think because i couldn't read any of the words properly.

I have been able to find Helein's birth/baptism and she appears to have been about 15 yrs old at the time of her marriage, i haven't found Ollivier's birth yet but now i have got a name for his mother it should make it easier, i hope.

Thank you once again
Sal
