Joseph Kelly uniform ???

hmm the Fleming is confusing me  as this name does not show on any census records Monica found for me  it only showed all my grand father sibling with  one christian name only .

 but in saying that I do know my mother was given a family surname as a 2ND christian name after a married aunt of my grandfathers and , do know with Scottish family this was a common practise and still is with my 1st cousin being given  her fathers mothers  surname as a 2ND christian name as was her father

They dont always show the second name in the census returns and sometimes they call them something different depending on what the family calls them!  They even get the name wrong... 
Yes the S/5030 is his service number and yes he could have been transferred from one Regt to another.  When a whole Battalion was devastated during battles individuals might end up anywhere even in Regiments they felt no attachment to.

In this case, any transfer for him between regiments was pre-war.
His medal card (detailing his war service) only lists the Royal Highlanders (Black Watch)

have you found a copy of his medal card at all ? I had my grandfathers sent to me on private message I think from  rootcast staff member.

 I am also presuming he was buried in France as there were possible to many killed to send the body's home .

on the site listing his death is says wife Jessie Bradley formaly Kelly

  findign this a little confusing   does this mean she was a Bradley  before she married  Josephe Kelly or could this be   her remarrying ?

 sorry I am new to all these documents

Sounds like she remarried but it would have been more likely after he died as divorce was not very common in those days as only the upper classes could afford it...
