HM Prison Hereford c1911

Does anyone know where records are held for the above prison?

I'm interested in a Peter Garner 36 born Frodsham Cheshire and a Bricklayer, the 1911 Census shows him as an inmate!

Have you tried contacting the local record office? I know they do have some there but i'm not sure of the dates and such..
