Welcome to RootsChat Stevededa  :)

What are you trying to find out about Richard?

His christening seems to be here: http://pilot.familysearch.org

19 Jul 1813 St Martin Birmingham, parents Richard and Ann

There's also a marriage, 5 Oct 1835, St George Birmingham, to Eliza Whitlock

Any use?

 :)

Sorry Steve no Birth Certs pre 1837 when Civil Reg came in.
What we have to do is find all Christenings to that couple to see if we can find a marriage of a Richard to a Ann just before the christening of the first child to them.
Also to try and find them on Census if still alive post 1841.

Is the Marriage Tati posted the right one for your Richard?
What is the child of Richard born 1813 that you are descended from and when was he born?
Do you have him on Census entries?

Trish :)

Ok I found Richard a Lamp Maker in 1841/1851 with Wife Eliza;
Children;
Eliza
Walter
Jane
Emma
So marriage Tati found was correct.

Sometimes the Childrens names are important whilst searching for Parents although he does not seem to have names a Daughter Ann.

I cant find any other Christenings to Richard and Ann but there is this Burial in Birmingham from Familysearch Pilot that could be related;
Richard WINFIELD, 10 April 1857, Birmingham, Warwick, England.
Age 69, Birth 1788

Unfortunately I cant find him in 1841/1851 Census ???

EDIT; Thanks for your confirmation which came thru as I was posting this.

Marriage certs from 1837 when civil registration began, will only give the names of the bride, groom, their fathers and the witnesses.

Marriage certs before civil registration just give the bride, groom and witnesses.

To find Ann's maiden name you would need to trace her marriage.
