To get you started, here is what I think might be his baptism..

Baptism Register
All Saints Edmonton
Enfield

Henry Robert Frederick son of Henry and Amelia PLATER of 15 Holly Street North Dalston.  Baptised June 18th 1848.  Father's Occupation Solicitors Clerk.

If this sounds like the right man, let me know and I can see what else I can turn up for you

This could be him as well

Henry Robert Frederick PLATER of 18 Campbell Road Bow Middlesex,died 17 July 1904.  Probate London 25 August 1904 to Charles Augustus PLATER solicitor's clerk Effect UKP1015

I can also see him as crew on at least 4 vessels from London to Australia.  Would you like details??

Thats correct, he was a sea captian so it was his father who was high bailiff bow county.

can we get any further back than that as this is where it goes dead.
