Phil Candy

Firstly , thanks to Shane for the input
Phil, I checked my Irish Times references for  Dowker's Lane for the period up to 1901 but none appear to have any relevance to your search.

Dear all

Big breakthrough in the past 24 hours.  It turns out that the family owned a grave in Mt Jerome Cemetery, Dublin, and that six members were buried there:

William (senior) in 1868
Elizabeth in 1872 (she actually died in Cork; had been staying with her daughter Emily who married Robert JONES)
William (junior) in 1856 (he died of consumption aged just 25)
and three of Charles and Louisa's five children - two as infants and one as a fifteen year old

I have also discovered that two of William's and Elizabeth's daughters (Eliza and Maria Louisa) moved to England by 1851, where they married and settled.

So in summary, I have now traced all five of William's and Elizabeth's children; the only unfinished business is to find the death of Emily Richardson JONES who moved to Cork with her husband Robert, and I have posted a query on the Cork board.  As a result, I can probably close this thread.

Thank you all very much for your interest, and kind assistance with my inquiry.

Best wishes

Phil Candy
